With new announcement about launching on base network, will $WCT can be staked at base network too? Make a new campaign for staking at base, maybe this can attract the attention of base users

It would be amazing if staking opportunities could also be extended to the Base network. Having a dedicated staking campaign on Base could really help attract new users from the Base ecosystem and strengthen community engagement. Looking forward to seeing how WalleConnect builds on this expansion!

Yeah, gonna be a hard disagree from me, or at the very least, it’s not something that should be officially supported at the base level. Kinda defeats the purpose of staking by converting long-term network security into short-term liquidity, no?
Concentrating power among token whales and, for those who care, adding considerable selling pressure is never great. Developers can (and hopefully will!) issue their own derivative tokens if they want that functionality, but those issuers should remain external and not be endorsed or integrated by the main protocol, in my view.
EDIT: In regard to liquid staking that is! Just wanna clarify I’m fine with the proposal of staking on base

its a good idea but staking is matter not chain bas eis great but i think we all are good on any circumstances love this

For price stability liquid staking is not a very good idea but it brings in more liquidity flows since huge investment holders can come in knowing their investments can be moved or diverted when needed,in the long term as long as wallet connect stays a viable option most will become $WCT long term holder
