Summary
Introduce an Auto-Approval Mode that allows users to automatically approve low-risk transactions from trusted dApps without needing to confirm every single time on their mobile device.
This premium feature would be unlocked by holding or staking a certain amount of $WCT.
Why This Matters
Currently, WalletConnect requires users to confirm every transaction on their phone — which is excellent for security, but inefficient for power users, especially:
- During airdrop farming, testnet activity, or batch NFT minting
- When interacting repeatedly with familiar dApps
- In time-sensitive DeFi strategies (sniping, MEV, etc.)
By offering an optional auto-confirmation mode, WalletConnect can enhance UX for advanced users while still maintaining security boundaries.
How It Could Work
- Users can stake or lock a threshold amount of $WCT (e.g. 1000 WCT)
- This unlocks the option to enable Auto-Approval Mode
- The feature allows auto-confirmation of pre-authorized transactions from whitelisted dApps
- Users can set:
- A time limit (e.g. 15–60 minutes)
- Max gas per tx
- Token limit per tx
- After the session expires, approval returns to manual mode
Security Considerations
To ensure safety:
- Activation requires biometric login or wallet password
- Only dApps explicitly whitelisted by the user are allowed
- Real-time notifications still show approved transactions
- Quick “Kill Switch” available in the app
This balances convenience with responsible security.
WCT Utility
This feature strengthens token utility in a native, practical way:
- Stake $WCT to unlock auto-approval
- Or pay a small fee in $WCT per session (like gas for UX upgrade)
- Tiers of benefits based on how much $WCT you hold
Benefits
- Better UX for advanced users
- Encourages long-term WCT holding
- Makes WalletConnect more competitive for Web3 developers and airdrop hunters
- Creates an optional “Pro” layer without changing the secure default flow
